Science at BSEU

Belarus State Economic University (BSEU) is the leading educational and scientific center of the country in the field of economics, which trains specialists of the international level, as well as fundamental and applied research in the general strategic direction "Ensuring the security of man, society, state in terms of economic security of the state, national economic sectors, economic entities" for 2021-2025.
In addition, the key vectors of scientific research are also:

• Ensuring economic security and innovative development of the national economy through the implementation of measures of innovation and industrial policy, digital transformation and accumulation of intellectual capital;
• Improvement of monetary and fiscal policy of the state to ensure the competitiveness of the economy and increase the welfare of the population;
• Ensuring balanced development of the national economy and monetary and financial security through the promotion of domestic products in world markets in conditions of reconfiguration of foreign economic relations;
• Introduction of new technologies in agriculture, ensuring sustainable development of rural areas in order to ensure food security of the country;
• Development and use of economic and mathematical methods and models in the sectors of national economy;
• Research on the history of economic relations in the Belarusian lands from the 16th century to the present;
• Sociological studies of the Belarusian society, economic relations, as well as social design.

Scientific and innovative activity is carried out by 10 faculties with 41 departments, Institute of Socio-Humanitarian Education with 5 departments, Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining of Economic Staff with 1 department, Center for Scientific Research.

BSEU continues the implementation of the experimental project "Improvement of higher education institutions based on the model "University 3.0". The infrastructure, formed within the framework of the project, includes:
2 branch laboratories – branch laboratory of topical problems of taxation and tax policy and branch laboratory of antimonopoly and price regulation, regulation in the sphere of commerce;

5 research centers –  the Center of social-humanitarian studies at the Institute of social-humanitarian education, the Center of MeMicroMacro: the center of popularization of economic science and behavioral research at the Economics Department of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, the Center of macroeconomic research, the Center of Belarusian-Chinese dialog research in economy and culture, the Center of artificial intellect
2 business incubators – Innovation Business Incubator of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Belarus State Economic University and Student Research Business Incubator of the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism Industry of the Belarus State Economic University.

Scientific activity in BSEU is organized and controlled by the Center for Scientific Research (CSR), which as a research structural unit of the university, unites and coordinates the scientific and innovative activities of the university departments that perform and provide scientific research and development. All organizational and methodological work for the development of scientific research is entrusted to the CSR.

In 2018-2022, with the participation of the university staff, more than 100 pieces of information and analytical notes, expert opinions, recommendations and proposals on topical issues of socio-economic development of the country and drafts of regulatory legal acts were prepared and submitted to public administration bodies. Also the employees of the university actively participated in the work of interdepartmental commissions and working groups, created by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus and other bodies of state administration.

The main goals of the CSR are:

• Carrying out fundamental, oriented fundamental and applied research aimed at obtaining and application of new knowledge, which are the basis for improving the efficiency of training of qualified specialists and scientific and pedagogical staff of higher qualification;
• Creation and commercialization of scientific developments for the real sector of the economy and attraction on this basis of additional budget and extrabudgetary funds.

The main objectives of the CSR are:

• Priority development of scientific research aimed at improving the education system at all levels, improving the scientific and methodological support of the educational process;
• Development of innovative activities, provision of scientific and consulting services aimed at commercialization of research and development;
• Realization of normative-methodological, informational-analytical and advertising support of scientific researches and developments;
• Creation of conditions for formation and development of scientific schools;

ensuring close connection of scientific and innovative activity with educational process;

• Development and implementation of economic and organizational measures to attract budgetary and non-budgetary financial resources to scientific and innovative spheres of activity;

Increasing the prestige and motivation of the university staff involved in scientific and innovative activities.
