Harbin – Minsk: new horizons of cooperation BSEU
On October 11, an official visit of the delegation of the Harbin Far Eastern Polytechnic University (PRC) to BSEU took place.
Vice-Rector Zeng Tao and Russian language teacher Li Xuefei met with BSEU Rector Alexei Egorov and Vice-Rector for Academic Activities Olga Morozevich and discussed promising areas and opportunities for cooperation, and also exchanged souvenirs.
In addition, guests from Harbin were given a tour of the university with a visit to the library, the Cabinet of Confucius, the room of multimedia materials and communications, and the student club. The meeting ended with negotiations, which were attended by heads of departments in the areas of most interest to the Chinese side: Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism Industry Alexander Erchak and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Economics Olga Malinovskaya.
As a result of the visit of the PRC delegation, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in such areas as student exchange, sending teachers for education and training, cultural exchanges, joint scientific and practical events, and organization of joint research conferences.
Representatives of the Harbin Far Eastern Polytechnic University, who traveled a long way from the northernmost province of China to Minsk, thanked the Belarusian side for the warm welcome and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
Strengthening relations between BSEU and educational institutions of China
On February 6, BSEU hosted a meeting with a permanent partner and good friend of the university - the Charitable Foundation for Supporting the Education and Development of Talented Students TECF (PRC). The Foundation selects talented students of Chinese schools, together with the Belarusian State Economic University, teaches them the Russian language and sends them to study in Belarus. Much attention in 2022 was paid to joint humanitarian exchange events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China. BSEU students took an active part in such events, and the best of them will be awarded with special diplomas and prizes.
During the meeting of the General Secretary of the TIAN Di Foundation and Vice-Rector for Academic Activities Olga MOROZEVICH, the prospects for the development of joint cooperation in three areas important for the two organizations were discussed: the creation of joint educational programs with universities and colleges of China in the formats "2 + 2 + 1" and "3 +1+1", the opening of master's programs in profiles relevant to the Chinese market, as well as the participation of the Foundation in teaching Belarusian students the Chinese language and creating opportunities for mutual study of the language, culture and national traditions by the Belarusian and Chinese sides.
BSEU successfully participated in the International Winter School of Tomsk State University
Tomsk State University annually holds the International Winter School. This year was no exception, and from January 17 to 28 another school "Your Global Oppotrunities: International Perspectives" took place in the online format.
For the teaching specialists from the Russian Federation, France, Italy, the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Belarus were involved. Belarusian State Economic University was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of International Business Communications Julia Shavruk, who delivered a guest lecture on "Analysis of corporate strategiesin the sphere of tourism" and answered the questions of undergraduates from Africa, China and the Russian Federation. Let's hope that such events will become traditional and contribute to further cooperation and grow into other large-scale projects.

Online working meeting with Tashkent State University of Economics
On January 20, BSEU and Tashkent State University of Economics (Republic of Uzbekistan) discussed online the details of joint educational programs with the issuance of two diplomas in the specialties "Statistics and data Analysis" and "Finance and Credit". The opening of these programs is scheduled for spring 2022.
The moderators were: on the part of BSEU – Vice-rector for Academic Activities Olga Morozevich, on the part of TSEU – Vice-rector for International Cooperation Dilshodjon Rakhmonov. The discussions were also attended by the leadership of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of TSEU, as well as the leadership of the Faculty of Digital Economics and the Faculty of Finance and Banking of BSEU.
BSEU and the Institute of Regional Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences signed a cooperation agreement
On January 17, 2022, an Agreement on scientific cooperation was signed between the educational institution "Belarusian State University of Economics" and the Institute of Problems of Regional Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The online event began with the presentation of the parties and a summary of the meeting of the Scientific Session of the Academic Council of the IPRE RAS. The Director of the Institute, Professor Alexey Shmatko, welcomed the participants and highlighted the key issues on the agenda, among which was the expansion and consolidation of cooperation with BSEU. Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Alexey Bykov returned the greeting, presented the scientific potential of BSEU and invited colleagues from the IPRE RAS to participate in international conferences of the university. The subject of the agreement is the training, retraining and (or) advanced training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers, as well as joint research work.

BSEU expands cooperation with People's Republic of China
A Memorandum of educational cooperation was signed between BSEU and Luoyang Normal University with the participation of Vice-rector for academic activities Olga Morozevich (BSEU) and Vice-rector for international relations and academic activities Zhao Haiyan (Luoyang University of Education).
The online meeting began with introductions by the parties and brief information about the history of the universities and their educational potentials.
During the event both sides discussed issues of mutual cooperation in the field of education and science including the opening of two Centers for the study of Chinese culture and the Russian language.

BSEU develope bilateral contacts with Vietnam
On August 12 BSEU hosted an online meeting with representatives of the Foreign Trade University (FTU), in the framework of which the main directions of bilateral cooperation have been defined. From the FTU side there were Ha Dao, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department and Lu Ong who is in charge of European region.
BSEU was represented by the management of the International Relations Department headed by Kanstantin Shykh and Anastasia Yaskevich.

Negotiations between BSEU and Metropolitan International United College (Pakistan)
On 3 June, BSEU held online talks with Metropolitan International United College (MIUC), one of the Pakistan's leading institutions. The meeting from the Belarusian side was moderated by the Vice-Rector Olga Morozevich and the Dean of the Higher School of management and business Sergey Krichevskiy, and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus Valid Mushtaq from the Pakistani side.
The topic of the meeting was possibilities for Pakistani citizens to study at the second higher education level in the academic year 2021/2022. Representatives of the MIUC expressed their vision on the possibility to study at the Institute for Master's programs in English. The parties discussed a number of issues related to the training programs and plans, terms, payment of tuition fees and promotion of BSEU educational services in Pakistan.
In conclusion there was reached the understanding to agree on the conditions for Pakistani citizens to enroll in the English language Master programs in the near future, to exchange the current information on the specialties in English, to maintain contacts with the related services.

The online Open day for Chinese citizens in BSEU
On June 2, the online Open day for foreign citizens of China was held in BSEU as part of the Admissions campaign-2021. The representatives of the University: Vice-rector Olga Morozevich, Dean of the Office for international students Natalia Skriba, officer of International relations department Anastasia Yaskevich and representative of Chinese community Zhang Haizhong – as well as students from China took part at the video conference.
A detailed presentation was given of the University and its educational potential. BSEU students shared their impressions of university education, participation in public life, and academic success. Potential applicants had an opportunity to ask the university’s representatives questions, to receive the necessary advice and to learn about the characteristics of their admission.
The event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Participation of BSEU as Guest of Honour at the Business artistry of Gansu International Finance and Economics Forum (Lanzhou, China)
On April 23, 2021, the rector of BSEU Vyacheslav Shutsilin acted as an honorary guest at the Business artistry of Gansu International Finance and Economics Forum with a report on the topic: “Prospects for Implementing the Innovative Model for Training Finance Specialists at the Belarusian State Economic University” in the format of a video conference.
The speech presented the university’s experience in practical-oriented training for future banking professionals in modern conditions. The university head focused on the consequences of the processes of intensifying the innovative development of the economy, which subsequently requires from the education system completely new specialists with high professional training and experience in entrepreneurial activity.
The event was organized with the assistance of the Lanzhou University of Economics and Finance, as well as the China-European Cultural and Educational Center "Dunou" LLC, which is a traditional partner of Belarusian universities in the comprehensive expansion of scientific contacts with Chinese educational institutions, organizations and research institutes.

International Online Seminar in partnership with the University of Cagliari (Italy)
On April,14, 2021, the International Online Seminar "Tourism and Hospitality Industry: Pandemic Impacts and Regulation" took place on the ZOOM platform (working language - English), organized by the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism Industry, which was attended by representatives of Italy, Spain and the Republic of Belarus.
The Belarusian State Economic University was represented by Vice - Rector Olga Morozevich, the Deputy Dean of Commerce and Tourism Industry Faculty Yulia Shavruk, the Head of Economics and Management of Tourism Industry Department Oksana Yezhel, the Assistant of Economics and Management of Tourism Industry Department Viktoria Maleronok, and Masters’ and PhD students.
The presentations presented not only the results of theoretical research, but also practical experience, including those of the seminar participants themselves. For example, Margarita Kozlovskaya, postgraduate student, shared her experience of restaurant business functioning under COVID-19 conditions on the example of bar "Insomnia".
As it is known, the Republic of Belarus has not imposed the bans on HORECA segment activities, but the objective situation forced to work under difficult conditions of decreasing demand.
As part of the cooperation with the branch of Economics and Management of the Tourism Industry Department at the Hotel "Planet", the seminar was attended by the hotel director Dmitry Shavruk and his assistant Ekaterina Leonova (incidentally, a BSEU graduate, who has worked at the hotel since 2019). She introduced participants with a report on "Features of hotel management during a pandemic".
Elena Chernyshova - the training manager in the restaurant business of Lagardere Travel Retail (Spain, Malaga), presented an interesting experience using the example of Spain as one of the countries significantly suffered from the pandemic. She shared her impressions on quarantine measures, government support for businesses and coronavirus impact on it.
No less significant were the speeches by representatives of Italy. Thus, Giuseppe Carboni, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Cagliari, spoke about the prospects of development of Belarusian-Sardinian relations.
Carla Massidda, the Professor of Economics and Business at the Cagliari University, marked the key points of cooperation between BSEU and the University.
Andrea Pinna, the coordinator of BSEU-UNICA Double Diploma Programme (the Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science Department), outlined the problematic issues of the programme. The Graduate students of the Cagliari University made presentations. The presentation by Maurizio Cucchiara – the representative of Sardinia's tourism industry - about the changes in the work of business entities during the lockdown was very interesting as well.
All workshop participants made suggestions for the work of tourism organizations during the pandemic particularities and expressed a desire to continue working together.

Belarusian and Chinese negotiations in BSEU
On the April 4, 2021 BSEU had on-line negotiations with the Head of The Foundation for Educational Support and Development of Talented Students (TECF). Olga Morozevich, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, and Natalya Skriba, Dean for Work with Foreign Students, took part in the event on behalf of BSEU.
Parties discussed the following issues:
- cooperation in training Chinese students at BSEU Preparatory department;
- admittance of the graduates of Russian language courses of the Charity Foundation for Education Support and Development of Talented Students to BSEU;
- possibility of opening a specialized English language Master programme (specialization) within the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.
A clear programme of further interaction was outlined, and the future promising areas of cooperation were identified.

Erasmus+ program information day at BSEU
On March 17, as part of the Erasmus+ program information day, an event aimed at broad coverage of the Erasmus+ program instruments and summarizing the experience of project participants was held at BSEU.
Among the participants of the event were representatives of higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus, for which online access was also organized.
The meeting was opened with a welcoming speech by Olga MOROZEVICH, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs in charge of international activities, and Oksana MINICH, coordinator of the National Office of Erasmus+ in the Republic of Belarus.
Office Administrator Alexander Rytov made a presentation about the Jean Monnet tool for potential participation and answered questions about the purpose of the tool, types of projects, existing conditions and requirements.
The speakers also shared the information and experience on the best practices of participation in the Jean Monnet instrument and made a presentation on the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters instrument review.

Visit of the British delegation to BSEU
On 18 March, an honorary delegation of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Maxim ERMOLOVICH and Professor of Banking and World Economy Richard WERNER (United Kingdom) visited BSEU. The meeting were attended by the First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Irina STAROVOITOVA, and the Chief Specialist of the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education Inna POLOZKOVA.
The Rector Vyacheslav SHUTILIN, Vice-Rectors for Academic Affairs Olga MOROZEVICH and Alla PRANEVICH, Vice-Rector represented BSEU for Research Alexey BYKOV, Heads of Finance, Banking, and International Economic Relations Departments took part in the negotiations on behalf of BSEU.

Negotiations with Pakistan's educational community
BSEU held videoconference talks with Pakistani scientific circles. The event was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Pakistan and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Lahore Walid Chaudhary Mushtaq.
Potential partners expressed interest in sending Pakistani citizens to study in English-speaking master's and postgraduate studies.
The parties exchanged views on the possibility in the near future of concluding a bilateral international agreement on cooperation with a related university.

Negotiations with the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property
On February 9, BSEU held videoconference talks with the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property (Moscow) on possible areas of cooperation in 2021 moderated by Olga Morozevich (Director of Master's Training Institute), and Tatiana Taranova (Department Chair of Civil Law Disciplines).
Representatives of both institutions discussed the potential for developing a pilot project for a two-year master's degree in law within the Dual Diploma Program. The Russian side expressed interest in the possibilities of online education of Russian and Belarusian students within the framework of a joint educational program, as well as in the establishment of scientific contacts.
Agreement was reached on the early negotiation of a bilateral treaty.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela Mr. Franklin Ramirez Araque visited BSEU.
A meeting was held with the rector of BSEU Vyacheslav Shutsilin. During the meeting was discussed issues related to international cooperation in education, including the possibility of teaching students from Venezuela at our university, as well as prospects in the field of student and teaching mobility. Parties were interested in elaboration and realization of common educative products in frames of friendship between two countries.
At the end of the negotiations, the Ambassador visited the Center for Latin American Studies, which has been functioning at the Faculty of International Business Communications of the Belarus State Economic University for over 5 years. Some interesting events are planned under the auspices of the Center for this academic year, including lectures of diplomats, panel discussions and meetings aimed at promotion of active intercultural dialog between Belarus and Venezuela.
BSEU and the Chinese company «Scienceberry» signed an agreement
The Belarus State Economic University and the Chinese company «Scienceberry» signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of education on September 8.
As part of the meeting, the sides discussed aspects of the development of educational services, the main areas of further cooperation, issues of joint projects. During an active dialogue, the parties noted the prospects for mutually beneficial development.
Strengthening relations with China is a priority area of BSEU's international policy. Cooperation with the «Scienceberry» company is another successful step towards promoting the educational services of our university at the international level.
The 2nd online Open day for foreign citizens in BSEU
On August 12, the 2nd online Open House for foreign citizens was held online at BSEU as part of the Admissions campaign-2020.
The meeting was organized for Chinese citizens wishing to enroll in an English-speaking master's degree program. Potential candidates asked about admission issues, including the possibility of studying at the university via video conferencing in epidemiological situation, the peculiarities of living in hostels for foreign citizens, and further employment after graduation.
The issue of admission and training at the preparatory department in June 2021 was also addressed.
BSEU representatives answered all questions of interest to Chinese citizens. The parties agreed BSEU would send promotional materials and brochures to potential candidates.
Open day for foreign citizens at BSEU
An Open Day was organized at BSEU in the videoconference mode for foreign citizens. The meeting was attended by representatives of the university responsible for the educational process of foreign students and international cooperation. Future students had the opportunity to communicate directly with the university staff and ask questions of interest.
The event allowed potential candidates to get acquainted with the specifics of admission to BSEU, the educational process, life in the hostel and ongoing cultural activities.
Hexi University students got BSEU Certificates of education
The Belarus State Economic University and Chinese Hexi University are connected by partnership. Since the last year the Belarusian and Russian Languages Department receives Hexi University students for the 3rd year according to 2+1+1 Program at the School of International Business Communication
BSEU and the Suzhou Heshu Blockchain Application Research Institute signed the Cooperation Agreement
The Belarus State Economic University and the Suzhou Heshu Blockchain Application Research Institute signed the Cooperation Agreement on the 8th of July.
During the videoconference, the parties discussed issues in the field of remote learning and deepening bilateral cooperation. In the near future, the organization of the educational process in the remote format is planned for Chinese students. Read more..
Online interview for future BSEU master candidates from China
Cooperation in the field of education between the Belarus State Economic University and the China Eastern Europe culture & education exchange center ‘Dunou’ is gaining momentum.
In order to enter the English-language master’s program, an online interview was held for Chinese applicants in the fields of «Marketing», «Accounting, Analysis and Audit» and «World Economy» at the Belarus State Economic University on the 9th of July. Read more..
China Eastern Europe culture & education exchange center
In the 17th of June the Belarus State Economic University and China Eastern Europe culture & education exchange center signed the cooperation agreement.
The main areas of further cooperation were discussed during a meeting with the director Zhao Fujiang. Pilot projects for the implementation of the educational and scientific potential of the Belarus State Economic University were identified with Chinese partners.
Bilateral relations between Belarusian and Chinese establishments became a good tradition. By the way, our university has more than 10 Chinese partners with whom we concluded agreements and set active business cooperation.
BSEU shows its appreciation to the Chinese party looking forward to our friendship consolidation.
BSEU and Zhejiang-Shujen University signed the Cooperation Agreement
The Cooperation Agreement was signed between Belarus State Economic University (BSEU) and Zhejiang-Shujen University (PRC). The meeting, attended by the rectors of the two universities, was organized by videoconference.
The event took place in the atmosphere of mutual understanding and interest. The parties noted their readiness to deepen bilateral relations. The Chinese side thanked Belarus for its support in combating the COVID-19 epidemic and emphasized the importance of expanding working contacts with reliable partners such as BSEU. In turn, the Head of BSEU assured Chinese colleagues that good relations between Belarusian and Chinese educational institutions have become a long tradition.
Following the signing ceremony, the representatives of both universities reached the agreement on mutual visits after normalization of the epidemiological situation.
