Science at BSEU
The main areas of scientific research of the University in 2026:
- achieving macroeconomic stability through regulation of structural and technological transformations of the economy and modeling macroeconomic risks
- Ensuring competitiveness and scientific and technological sovereignty through neo-industrialization and digitalization of the economy
- ensuring national security in the foreign economic sphere, developing export potential in the context of reconfiguration of trade and investment flows
- ensuring the financial stability of the economy by adapting the banking system, financial markets and public expenditure management to changes in the foreign economic and institutional environment
- statistical assessment of the quality of life of the population based on modeling of economic, socio-demographic, and environmental parameters
- improving the quality of management information to improve the management of individual types of economic activity and microeconomic entities
- institutional modernization and development of the business education system in the Republic of Belarus
- the introduction of innovative technologies in the agro-industrial complex and ensuring sustainable development of rural areas to ensure food security for the country
- analysis and improvement of the law enforcement function of ensuring and protecting national security

- Methodological and instrumental support for the analysis and assessment of structural changes in the Belarusian economy in the context of digital transformation
- Development of a methodology for statistical assessment of economic security based on modeling and forecasting of the country's competitiveness indicators in the context of digitalization of the economy
- To develop a methodology for standard planning based on the standard expenditure on training and education of one student in the implementation of higher education programs by specialty
- Research of development trends in the logistics system and transit potential of the Republic of Belarus and development of proposals to improve their efficiency
Scientific and innovative infrastructure of BSEU
Scientific and innovative activities are carried out by 11 faculties consisting of 43 departments; the Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Economic Personnel consisting of 1 department; the Center for Scientific Research.
1 industry laboratory – industry laboratory of antimonopoly and price regulation, regulation in the field of trade (Rector’s order dated 15.11.2018 No. 1190-A);
5 research centers – Center for Social and Humanitarian Research at the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Education (the regulation was approved by the rector on 12.12.2018, reg. number 1/18), MeMicroMacro Center: center for popularization of economic science and behavioral research at the Department of Economic Theory of the Faculty of International Economic Relations (the regulation was approved by the rector on 11.03.2019, reg. number 12-B), Center for Macroeconomic Research (order of the rector dated 03.12.2003 No. 782-A), Center for Research of the Belarusian-Chinese Dialogue in Economics and Culture (order of the rector dated 05.11.2019 No. 1212-A), Center for Artificial Intelligence (order of the rector dated 31.12.2019 No. 1429-A);
2 business incubators – Innovative Business Incubator of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Belarusian State Economic University (May 2019) and Student Scientific and Practical Business Incubator of the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism Industry of BSEU (was transformed from the Student Scientific and Practical Center “Business Incubator of BSEU” on November 26, 2019 by the order of the rector No. 1297-A.
Research activities at BGEU are organized and overseen by the Center for Scientific Research (CSR) , which, as the university's research division, unites and coordinates the scientific and innovative activities of the university's departments that conduct and support research and development. The CSR is responsible for all organizational and methodological work related to the development of scientific research.
The University is actively involved in coordinating fundamental research with scientific organizations and institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to implement state scientific research programs.
The main objectives of the CNI are:
- conducting fundamental, oriented fundamental and applied research aimed at obtaining and applying new knowledge, which is the basis for increasing the effectiveness of training qualified specialists and highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel;
- creation and commercialization of scientific developments for the real sector of the economy and, on this basis, attraction of additional budgetary and extra-budgetary financial resources.
The main objectives of the Central Research Institute are:
- priority development of scientific research aimed at improving the education system at all levels, improving the scientific and methodological support of the educational process;
- development of innovative activities, provision of scientific and consulting services aimed at the commercialization of scientific research and development;
- implementation of regulatory, methodological, informational, analytical and advertising support for scientific research and development;
- creating conditions for the formation and development of scientific schools;
- ensuring close connection between scientific and innovative activities and the educational process;
- development and implementation of economic and organizational measures to attract budgetary and extra-budgetary financial resources to scientific and innovative spheres of activity;
- increasing the prestige and motivation of university employees engaged in scientific and innovative activities.
