Meeting with Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Anatolyevich Rachkov

On May 16, within the framework of the Unified Information Day at the Belarusian State Economics University, a meeting was held with Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs Sergei Anatolyevich Rachkov. During a lively and interesting conversation with students, the deputy shared his opinion about an important event in the life of the state – the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, calling it key in building the future of Belarus, told interesting facts about diplomatic and public service and answered questions from students.

Sergey Anatolyevich Rachkov is a Belarusian statesman with many years of experience, a diplomat, a deputy from Vasnetsovsky district No. 93 (which includes BSEU), chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, winner of a number of state and international awards and author of more than 40 scientific publications on the problems of political culture, international relations and national security.

During a meeting with students of BSEU, Sergei Rachkov admitted that he was very glad of this meeting, because Belarusian youth will have to build the future, recalling that the motto of the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly (VNC) is "Time has chosen us!", therefore it is important to remember the responsibility of each of us for our native country. In view of the challenges and threats in the world, it is more important than ever to be a patriot and sincerely love your people.

Also, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus told the young people about his career – working as an adviser to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the United States, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the United Nations, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the League of Arab States and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Sultanate of Oman, the Algerian People's Republic The Democratic Republic and the Republic of the Sudan concurrently.

Our students asked the deputy a question: "How do you properly acquire knowledge from various fields and areas of life in order to become a professional in your field?".

First of all, love your profession. Thanks to her, I acquired new knowledge and competencies, which motivated me. You have already chosen your professional path, never doubt yourself, move towards your goal and by the age of forty you will see that the efforts were not in vain, you will understand that you have become excellent specialists," said Sergey Rachkov.

Today it is important to remember that a real information war has unfolded in the world, through new media, Western politicians are trying to impose destructive values on people around the world, especially young people, cultivating their ideology and worldview. In this regard, Sergey Anatolyevich added that the fate of every person is in his own hands, recalling the words from the Message of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly. Separately, the deputy spoke about the demographic situation in the country and called on young people to actively participate in the implementation of measures to ensure demographic security and patriotic actions.

- Remember how in 2020, Belarusian youth from abroad were put into their heads the idea that they should destroy their own state. As the President said, the methodology of the Washington regional committee does not change. Therefore, always include critical thinking while on the global network. Demography is also the most important challenge for us today, it is also our security and future. Categorically, it is not necessary to follow various foreign trends that destroy the institution of family, motherhood and childhood, because people are the basis and key wealth for any state," the deputy stressed.

At the end of the meeting, Vice-rector for Educational Work Sergey Ivanovich Skriba thanked Sergey Anatolyevich Rachkov for the event, wishing that the deputy would return to BSEU more than once.

- Of course, I will come to your university more than once. Thank you guys, success in your studies and all the best in life, - Sergey Anatolyevich wished our students.
