KubSU Students Share Their Experience of the Academic Exchange Program at BSEU

Maria Belkina and sisters Polina and Alina Efremova are third-year students at the Faculty of Economics of Kuban State University, majoring in International Management. This semester, they are studying at the Belarusian State Economic University at the Faculty of International Economic Relations as part of an academic exchange program. The students shared their first impressions of Belarus, their studies, and student life at BSEU.

The opportunity to study abroad was offered by their home dean's office, which regularly informs students about international programs. "Our choice fell on Belarus for a reason: first and foremost, we were drawn by the mentality. As for the choice of university, we read reviews from Russian students who had already studied here and realized that we wanted to try our hand at BSEU," the students say.

From the very first days at the university, the guests were surrounded by attention and care. They were welcomed warmly and positively at the dean's office and the International Relations Department. Their fellow students helped them figure out the schedule and gave them plenty of advice on how to spend their free time in an interesting way — both in Minsk and beyond.

Despite the short period of their stay, the students have already managed to make their mark. Maria took part in a poster contest and became a winner in the "Originality of Idea" category. In addition, the guests attended one of the university's largest spring events — the "Miss BSEU – 2026" contest. The faculty do everything possible to help the students feel like part of the group and be fully integrated into the academic process. Speaking about their studies, the students note: "At BSEU, foreign languages are studied in greater depth compared to our program at KubSU. This was a pleasant discovery and an opportunity to boost our skills."

Living in the dormitory is comfortable: the students quickly adapted to daily life, enjoy cooking together, and have already made many new acquaintances. For each of them, this is their first trip to Belarus. What impressed them most was the architecture of Minsk and its wide, spacious streets. Taking their fellow students' advice, they have put together a whole list of places they want to visit. Their immediate plans include going to Brest to see the Brest Fortress.

Their stay in a new country has also had an impact on their personal qualities. The students admit that during this time they have become more sociable, open, and active. Most importantly, they have never regretted their choice.

Moreover, today the students are seriously considering the possibility of returning to Belarus after graduating from KubSU and enrolling in a master's program at BSEU.
