Visit of Hebei Foreign Studies University to Belarus State Economic University (BSEU)

On June 10, a delegation from Hebei Foreign Studies University (PRC) visited the Belarus State Economic University (BSEU). A cooperation agreement between the universities had been signed previously. Today, both sides are interested in expanding inter-university partnership in the field of education.

An important context for this meeting is provided by Directive No. 9 "On the practical implementation of the all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China," signed on May 12, 2026, by the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. This document emphasizes the even greater significance and value of inter-university interaction, opening up broader opportunities for generating new ideas and putting them into practice.

During the negotiations, the Chinese side presented updated educational opportunities and infrastructure. Hebei Foreign Studies University is one of the largest universities by area in the province; plans for capacity building and further expansion of its infrastructure were also presented. University representatives discussed prospects for cooperation in new areas and formats — whereas previously interaction was limited to exchange programs and regular studies, much broader vectors of partnership are now opening up.

The Rector of BSEU, Alexey Vladimirovich Yegorov, noted: "We see potential in cooperation and are ready to open any master's degree specializations for Chinese students. This is a good prospect. Furthermore, it is necessary to form and develop a joint teaching staff."

Currently, 650 Chinese students are studying at BSEU. Many of them note that having a diploma from a Belarusian university gives them the opportunity to participate in competitive procedures for employment in government positions in China.

At the conclusion of the visit, the guests visited the BSEU Museum of History and the university library. The Rector of Hebei Foreign Studies University, Mr. Sun Jianzhong, left his wishes in the Guest Book and also donated his own books to the library.
