Features and competitive advantages:

Mission:
Training a new generation of highly qualified specialists in the field of economic relations in the tourism industry
Purpose:
Prepare specialists for professional activities in the formation, promotion and management of tourist and recreational areas and complexes, tourist destinations based on the use of innovative technologies, the practical application of scientific research and experimental research
Summary:
Duration of study in full-time - 1 year.

It provides mainly individual and independent work of the master's student under the supervision of the supervisor on the chosen topic (problem), the development of mandatory and selected subjects in combination with classroom and supervised independent work, passing the current certification (in the form of tests and exams, certification by the head and Department) and final certification (in the form of defense of the final work in the State examination Commission). During the course, the undergraduate performs research practice, has the opportunity to receive consultations from all lectureres and specialists of the department and the university, to use the materials of the university library and the teaching cabinet of the department, computer equipment and laboratories

Author of about 100 educational and practical manuals, scientific articles and materials on the problems of economy and competitiveness of economic entities (mainly trade and hospitality industry), improving their activities, the role of education in this process, participant and expert of international projects for the development of tourism in Belarus.

Shutilina Natalia V.  – PhD, associate Professor, associate Professor of the Department of Economics and management of the tourism industry. Author of more than 60 publications in the field of scientific interests: development of the market of health resort and Wellness services of the Republic of Belarus, marketing of the tourism industry, sustainable development of tourism.

Disciplines that form the basis of special disciplines: 2 mandatory modules.
Module 1 "Mechanisms of sustainable development of tourist complexes and territories" includes disciplines:

  • "Sustainable tourism development";
  • "Perspective types of tourism: identification, constructiveness, promotion".

Module 2 " Statistical and instrumental methods of business analysis and planning " provides for the study of the discipline :

  • Quantitative methods of analysis in business,
  • Environmental planning.

Disciplines chosen by the student:
(the student chooses one of two modules)
Module 1
"Infrastructure solutions in the tourism industry" includes 3 disciplines:

  • "The Business Ethics in the  International Tourism" (in English),
  • "Organizational Design in the Tourism Business",
  •  "The Revenue Management and Hotel Rate Policy".

Module 2
"Innovative forms of cooperation in the field of tourism" also includes 3 disciplines:

  • "Anthropology of tourism and cultural resources";
  • "Entrepreneurship and Business in Tourism" (in English),
  •  "Corporate Strategy in Tourism" (in English)

Optional subjects:
Pedagogy and psychology of higher education (required for passing the candidate's minimum) / Regulation of the use of natural and cultural resources in tourism (required for obtaining a double degree in cooperation with the University of Cagliari, Italy).

General subjects: "Philosophy and methodology of science", "Foreign language", "Fundamentals of information technology". The study of General subjects "Philosophy and methodology of science" and "Foreign language" ends with the candidate's exam, General discipline "Fundamentals of information technology" - candidate's test.
