Stay and residence of foreign citizens entering and studying at BSEU

All foreign citizens who have arrived to study at BSEU are required to report to the sector of migration registration and support for foreign students (room 4, bldg. 2, tel. +375-17-229-12-82, +375-33-391-72-57 – MTS, Viber, WhatsApp) within 5 days after crossing the border, WhatsApp) for registration of the right to reside in the Republic of Belarus. Reception days: Monday–Friday 10.00am – 4.00pm, a lunch-break 1.00pm – 2.00pm.

A prerequisite for admission to the university is that a foreign citizen has an insurance policy valid in the territory of the Republic of Belarus. For advice on purchasing an insurance policy, please contact the sector of migration registration and support for foreign students.

In the Republic of Belarus, foreign students are required to register with the consulate of their diplomatic mission.

In the Republic of Belarus, foreign students are required to reside only at the place of residence where they are registered with the registration authorities.

If foreign citizens are provided with a hostel, then registration is carried out at the address of the hostel where the student is allocated a place to stay. In case of residence at a private address, registration is carried out at the address of actual residence on the basis of certificate No. 15 provided by the Housing Department / housing rental agreement.

When changing their place of residence, foreign students are required to submit documents to the sector of migration registration and support for foreign students of the university for registration at the new place of residence within 3 working days calculated from the date of arrival at the new place of temporary residence. Any change in contact information (mobile phone number, email address, residential address) for a foreign student should be immediately reported to the Educational and Methodical Department for the Coordination of Education for Foreign Citizens (room 244, bldg. 3).

During the entire period of study, a foreign student independently monitors the validity period of registration indicated in the passport. 20 days before the end of the registration period specified in the passport, a foreign student must apply to the sector of migration registration and support for foreign students for an extension of the registration period. If it is necessary to temporarily or permanently leave the Republic of Belarus, a foreign student must notify the the sector of migration registration and support for foreign students 15 days before departure.

Vacation exit-entry visa is issued to foreign students only during the summer / winter holidays at the request of the university. Within one or two days after returning from vacation, you must inform the sector of migration registration and support for foreign students about your arrival in the Republic of Belarus.

If the national passport expires, it is renewed in your country or at the Embassy of that country. An application for an extension of the passport validity period must be submitted 1–2 months before its end.

Upon completion of the training, you must contact the sector of migration registration and support for foreign students and apply for an exit visa 20 days before the date of departure home (to your country).

When transferring from full-time to part-time education, the current registration is canceled and an exit visa is issued. In the future, arrival in the Republic of Belarus for the examination session is carried out at the invitation of the University. Part-time students who have arrived outside of the university's visa invitations will decide on registration issues at their place of residence.

A foreign student of part-time education must leave the Republic of Belarus before the expiration of the temporary stay and visa validity period, or extend the period of stay in the Republic of Belarus in time.

A foreign citizen who has been expelled from the university is obliged to move out of the university dormitory and leave the territory of the Republic of Belarus within 15 days from the date of expulsion. Any departure of a foreign student outside the Republic of Belarus is possible only if a workaround sheet is issued, which should be obtained from the Educational and Methodical Department for the Coordination of Education for Foreign Citizens.

Failure of foreign citizens to comply with the rules of stay on the territory of the Republic of Belarus entails bringing to administrative responsibility (FINE) and consideration of the issue of further study and stay in the Republic of Belarus. Foreign citizens who have not left the territory of the Republic of Belarus within the established time limits are subject to deportation.
