The department has been functioning as part of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of Economic Personnel (IAS and REP) since September 1, 2020 and was formed as a result of the merger of two departments of "Accounting, Control and Finance" and "Economics of Entrepreneurship and Law", which provided the educational process for the IAS and REP.

The Department of Economics of Entrepreneurship and Law was established in September 2000 at the special faculty "Consulttorgtsentr". Its first head was Shmarlovskaya Galina Aleksandrovna, Doctor of Economics, Professor. Then the department was headed by Skriba Natalya Nikolaevna, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor; Yatskovskaya Tamara Stepanovna, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor; Vernikovskaya Oksana Vasilievna, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor; Zorina Tatyana Gennadievna, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.

The Department of Accounting, Control and Finance was founded in 2002. The first head of the department was Levkovich Oleg Aleksandrovich, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor. Then from December 2010 the department was headed by Matalytskaya Svetlana Konstantinovna, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.

The Department of Accounting, Economics and Law specialises in retraining specialties at the level of higher education and provides an educational process for educational retraining programmes, advanced training of executives and specialists, and the organization of  training courses.

At the Department there are 7 associate professors, candidates of science and 2 senior teachers who have rich experience in scientific, pedagogical and practical work. On a part-time basis, the most qualified lecturers of BSEU and other educational institutions, as well as leading practitioners are involved.

According to the normative documents of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Department is responsible for the development and maintenance of educational standards and standard curricula for  retraining specialties: "Economics in foreign economic activity", "Economics and management in business", "International trade cooperation", "Banking" , "Taxes and Taxation", "Insurance", "Finance and Credit in Business", "Accounting and Control in Industry", "Accounting and Control in Business", "Marketing", "International Marketing", "Logistics ".

Currently, the department is carrying out research work on the topic: "Formation of a highly efficient, socially-oriented and competitive economy of a new type - the knowledge economy: legal, managerial and economic aspects."

The Department lecturers developed and posted a number of electronic educational and methodological teaching materials for the retraining disciplines on the local network (BSEU library).
