Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Venezuela to BSEU

This year, diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela are overstepping the 25-year milestone. In this regard, Franklin Ramirez Araque, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela, together with his wife, Mairena Nieves, agreed to take part in the scientific seminar “Latin American Vector in International Cooperation: Political, Economic and Socio-Cultural Aspects”, that took place on April 26.

All participants of the scientific seminar communicated in Spanish. In his welcoming speech to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students, the Ambassador of Venezuela noted that the Center for Latin American Studies of the Belarusian State Economic University is an excellent platform for time-tested cooperation between our countries in the field of education. The Ambassador shared interesting facts about Latin America, its history, traditions, landmarks and achievements with the seminar participants. It is noteworthy that a lot of them are reflected in the exhibition "Colors of Venezuela" organized in the BSEU library, which everyone can visit.

The scientific seminar was continued by BSEU students, who presented in Spanish the results of their research in the field of Latin American studies. The topics of speeches reflected the interests of students and touched upon the issues of interest to them. The diversity of scientific research this year could not but impress the guests of honor: the prepared presentations touched upon the development of the Latin American region, the impact of the current political situation on the economy of Latin countries, the peculiarities of the Latin American version of the Spanish language, the role of magical realism in world literature, the reflection of gastronomic realities in Latin American picture of the world and the state of the world coffee market.
