"Introduction to the Russian Caucasus": the Institute of Social Science and Humanities Education expands the geography of cooperation

Students of the Institute of Social Science and Humanities Education of the Belarusian State Economic University took part in the III International Forum "Introduction to the Russian Caucasus", which was held from July 21 to 24 in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (Russian Federation). Anastasia BUEVA, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science of the Institute, acted as the curator of the trip.

The forum was organized by the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (KBSU) and MGIMO; the main tracks of the forum are the expansion and improvement of the mechanisms of international cooperation through youth and student initiatives, as well as the development of multilateral joint projects in the field of youth policy, science and education. The forum program included educational, plenary and excursion parts, and the geography of events covered the Elbrus region, the cities of Mineralnye Vody and Nalchik.

Representatives of the BSEU delegation shared their impressions of participation in the forum:

- During the trip, each of us was convinced that the Caucasus is a unique region. Its uniqueness is manifested in everything: in the terrain, flora and fauna, but most of all we were struck by the uniqueness of multiculturalism and multinationality of this region. The Caucasus combines many peoples and cultures. Only in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, three languages are fixed at the state level: Russian, Kabardian and Balkar. However, the Caucasus is not limited to one Kabardino-Balkarian Republic; it is important that the diversity of culture and ethnicity freely interact with each other, and the Caucasus is doing an excellent job with this task!

As a result of the forum, an agreement was reached on concluding a cooperation document between the Institute of Social Science and Humanities Education (BSEU) and the Social and Humanitarian Institute (KBSU).
