Open lesson "Historical memory is a road to the future" by the President of the Republic of Belarus

Today, the dialogue of generations was heard throughout the country. On September 1, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a single lesson on history for schoolchildren and students. Live broadcast was conducted from the Palace of Independence. BSEU students also joined the online lesson. Some of them even managed to be present at the Palace and listen to the President in person.

The live broadcast of the historical lesson from BSEU was watched by the Minister of Education Andrei IVANETS, the Rector of the University Alexei EGOROV, deans, tutors and students of all our ten faculties. In almost four hours, the history lesson turned into live communication: the President shared his political experience and actively interacted with the audience, answering questions. The most active BSEU students managed to personally attend the palace and communicate with the President. Among them are the chairman of the student council of the university Ilya Nitzkovich, the commissioner of the student construction team "Narkhoz" Nikita Romanenko, the winner of the "Miss BSEU-2022" contest Anna Shestakova, the secretary of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union of the Faculty of Law Evgenia Leonchik, a member of the student research laboratory of the FEM BSEU Anastasia Taradeeva and a member of the youth council at the Minsk City Council of Deputies Vladimir Polovets.  Ilya Nitskovich shared his impressions with us after meeting with the President:No matter what anyone says, but the lesson took place in the format “on equal terms”. Alexander Lukashenko not only raised serious topics (patriotism, the sovereignty of Belarus, the transfer of power), but also in a joking manner could answer the questions of young people, thereby endearing them to himself. There were a lot of questions. This shows that it makes sense to continue such lessons, and that young people are not afraid to ask questions of the person who heads our state.” Alexander Lukashenko advised the future elite of our country not to put off anything for tomorrow and to do everything on time: “Do not be distracted by secondary issues. I advise you this. Do everything on time. Tomorrow there will be new problems. And we will do everything so that you, having entered the university, realize your plan. I will personally do everything for you to live in a peaceful country”.

On behalf of all the students and schoolchildren of our country, students at the Palace thanked the President for the open lesson and congratulated him on the Day of Knowledge.
