Results of the interfaculty competition of presentations in foreign languages "HISTORY OF BSEU IN PERSONS"

On October 20 and 21, at the initiative of the Department of Professionally Oriented English Speech of the Faculty of International Business Communications, in the 5th building of our university, a competition of presentations in foreign languages among students of 1st and 2nd courses of the BSEU was held - “HISTORY OF BSEU IN PERSONS”. The theme of the competition is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the founding of our university. The largest number of contestants were represented by FCTI, FFBD and FP, students of other faculties of BSEU also took part. Many students-competitors of FCTI took part in sections in two foreign languages.

During the competition, the students talked about former and current students and teachers of the university, who contributed to the development of various spheres of life of the Belarusian society and our university. They talked about athletes (Daria Domracheva, Kirill Shimko, Vladimir Romanovsky), leaders and representatives of state structures (Pavel Kallaur, Maria Vasilevich, Vladimir Koltovich, Nadezhda Ermakova, Pavel Utyupin) and departments of the university (Alexander Shklyarevsky, Olga Bodakova, Valentina Sytsko), stars show business (Kirill Shatov), ​​just relatives and many others. All participants of the competition demonstrated not only excellent knowledge of a foreign language and the ability to boldly defend their point of view, but also an incredible sense of pride in the university and its former students and current faculty. All students showed a creative approach to revealing their topic and creating multimedia presentations. The participants coped well with the questions from the jury, which, in turn, fairly assessed the performances of the participants. The event was held in a favorable atmosphere, where everyone listened attentively to the speeches of others. As a result, everyone received useful knowledge about our compatriots, met interesting people and outstanding professionals, and also discovered the world of friendly rivalry, in which everyone could show their talents and skills to the fullest.

For the third year in a row, employees of the State Institution “Museum of the History of the City of Minsk” have been participating as chairmen of the jury in sections in English. This time, the leading researcher Dubashinsky Yaroslav and senior researcher Mikutsevich Elizaveta became the guests of the competition. The chairmen of the jury of sections in English marked the works they liked the most with certificates for free admission to all expositions of the Museum during the year. The children were pleasantly surprised and satisfied.

Deciding on the winner of the competition was not easy, because each participant was worthy of being in first place.
