Round table on trends in higher education in Belarus and Russia

From disintegration to integration: On December 1, BSEU hosted an international round table dedicated to the opportunities and prospects for higher education in Belarus and Russia.
At the meeting, issues of the educational systems of our countries were discussed. The participants were welcomed by: Rector of the Belarusian State Economic University Alexei Vladimirovich EGOROV, Director of the Association "Center for Analysis and Forecasting of Union integration processes” Sergei Fedorovich PALAGIN, Professor of the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University Andrey Vladimirovich RUSAKOVICH and Deputy Executive Director of the Public Diplomacy Foundation named after. A.M. Gorchakova Victoria Georgievna Karslieva. The discussions were held on the topic "Modern trends in the field of higher education: tactical requirements and strategic goals" and were an exchange of experience in implementing projects in the field of education and science of representatives of Russian and Belarusian universities. Natalya Vyacheslavovna YUROVA from the Belarusian State University in her speech drew attention to the common historical and cultural foundations of fruitful cooperation between the Belarusian and Russian education systems. Natalya Yuryevna MARKUSHINA from St. Petersburg University gave an example of an interuniversity youth project, which is implemented on the initiative of students and every year attracts an increasing number of participants. Gennady Mikhailovich BROVKA from the Belarusian National Technical University drew attention to the existing difficulties in the field of international cooperation: legislation and state funding do not always keep up with the dynamic market of educational services, which does not allow to fully implement all ideas and initiatives . Aleksey Leonidovich RADIUK from Polotsk State University spoke about the successful experience of organizing student construction teams, which proved themselves excellently at archaeological excavations and in the construction of enterprises in Siberia. Alexey Viktorovich BELYAEV, Igor Anatolyevich PAVLOVSKY, Dmitry V. KAMYNIN and Boris V. KUZNETSOV discussed the problems of labor migration, the specifics of education of IT specialists, the importance of ideology and patriotic education in training personnel for the modern economy.
The event took place in heated discussions about the political and ideological foundations of the integration processes in the Union State. Informative and topical presentations made the first steps towards understanding the connections and differences between the educational systems of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
