Opening of the VI International Conference "Long XIX century" in the history of Belarus and Eastern Europe"

On March 23, for the first time on the basis of the Belarusian State Economic University, the opening of the work of the VI International Conference "The Long 19th Century" in the History of Belarus and Eastern Europe" took place. This location is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Belarusian State Economic University. The conference partners are respected scientific and educational organizations, including the Republican Institute of Higher Education, the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and St. Petersburg State University of Economics. Researchers from these institutions formed the base of the conference participants.
The participants made reports, the problems of which are of interest not only to historians, but also to economists. They sounded in full-time format and as part of an organized remote online channel. Alla Aleksandrovna PRANEVICH, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Belarusian State Economic University, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening. On behalf of the administration and herself personally, she wished the participants successful work and noted that this year applications were received from 88 scientists. On behalf of the organizers of the International Conference, Igor Vladimirovich TITOVICH, Vice-Rector for Research at the RIHE, addressed the audience. He noted that the scientific initiative under the general title “The Long 19th Century in the History of Belarus and Eastern Europe” is designed to unite historians and researchers representing other social sciences and the humanities who are interested in the period that fits into the chronological framework from the end of the 18th to the beginning of the 20th centuries. The director of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Education of the BSEU Danila Grigorievich DOBRORODNIY also greeted the guests of the university. In his speech, he recalled the words of a Russian historian that history teaches nothing, but punishes very painfully for ignorance of its lessons. Danila Grigoryevich expressed the hope that history would be favorable to the participants of the conference, because they honor it and pay the greatest attention to studying it.
