Foreign students of FIBC won the international competition in Russia

From February 15 to March 15 the VIII International Competition for the Best Essay of Foreign Students "Russia and the East: Tolerance of Cultures and Traditions" was held at the Siberian Transport University (STU, Novosibirsk, Russia). The competition was organized by the department "Russian language and oriental languages" of STU.

The purpose of the competition was to increase the level of knowledge about the culture and traditions of Russia; popularization of the Russian language; strengthening interethnic ties.

The competition was attended by foreign students from 8 universities in Russia, near and far abroad. In their works, the participants talked about the life of a foreign student in another country. About how they see Russia, Belarus. The contestants wrote about what pleases them, surprises and upsets them in a new country for them, what they have learned here. They talked about nature, traditions and culture. They compared their country and the country where they are now studying.

The students of our university have been participating in this event for several years and always show excellent results. This year's competition was no exception. The Belarusian State Economic University was represented at the competition by 1st year students of the Faculty of International Business Communications Xin Chen and Xu Liuzhou. Under the guidance of Irina Laputskaya, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Belarusian and Russian Languages, first-year students prepared interesting essays in which they talked about their life in Belarus. The work of our students received very high marks from the jury:

Xin Chen - 1 PLACE in the individual championship;
Xu Liuzhou won the Emotional Content category.
