BSEU delegation took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is taking place this week at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Complex. More than 17 thousand people from 130 countries and territories confirmed their participation in the event. The key theme of the forum this year is “Sovereign development is the basis of a just world”.
On June 14, on the first day of SPIEF, BSEU Rector Alexei EGOROV and Vice-Rector for Scientific and Methodological Affairs Tatyana SADOVSKAYA acted as speakers in the panel session "Realization of the industrial and innovative potential of the CIS countries: the role of the university community." The organizer of the panel session is the St. Petersburg State University of Economics, the moderator is the rector of St. Petersburg State Economic University Igor MAKSIMTSEV.
The main purpose of the discussion within the panel session was to form a common vision of the role of universities of the CIS countries in the development of industrial and innovative ecosystems, mechanisms for regional cooperation, including the creation of interstate and interuniversity project teams to solve specific problems of developing the economy of the CIS countries, including cross-cutting international projects, “linking” the space of the Commonwealth in the energy sector, transport and logistics; projects to form regional production chains in strategic industries.
The rectors of the leading universities of the CIS countries also acted as speakers: Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, a number of Russian universities.
Within the framework of SPIEF, the founding congress of the Association of CIS Universities was held, at which the prerequisites for the creation and prospects for the work of the Association of CIS Universities on sustainable economic development were discussed, and a memorandum on the establishment of the Association was signed.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will last until June 17. More than 150 events are planned within the framework of the forum
