The rector of BSEU took part in the First Belarusian-Chinese Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions

On November 21, the National Library of the Republic of Belarus hosted the grand opening of the First Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China. BSEU was represented at the Forum by Rector Alexei EGOROV and Vice-Rector for Academic Activities Olga MOROZEVICH.

The First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander BAKHANOVICH, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Xie XIAOYUNG, addressed the participants of the plenary session with a welcoming speech. The key moment of the plenary meeting was the signing of the Agreement on the establishment of the Chinese-Belarusian University Association, of which the Belarusian State Economic University, as well as partner universities: Dalian Polytechnic University, Guizhou Normal University, East China Normal University, Harbin University of Commerce, became members.

“The event that we are holding today is extremely important and can safely be called historical for the development of interuniversity cooperation - the first Forum of Rectors of the two countries and the creation of the Belarusian-Chinese University Association. We are confident that the established Association will contribute to the development of progressive proposals that will find real practical application and will contribute to further fruitful cooperation between our countries in the field of education,” noted First Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Bakhanovich.

Representatives of BSEU also took part in Section 1 “Development of digital literacy of students in the intellectual era”, discussed the prospects for further cooperation with partner universities and invited them to visit the university in the near future to continue negotiations.
