Dialogue platform "Prevention of road traffic injuries" at BSEU

On June 10, BSEU hosted a dialogue platform "Prevention of road traffic injuries" organized for students of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Marketing and Logistics. The event was held with online connection of representatives of Promtransinvest OJSC, which made it possible to discuss current issues of road safety taking into account the opinion of the business community.

The students were addressed by the speakers:
Angaryan Pavel Aleksandrovich, Head of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk, Police Lieutenant Colonel.
Morozko Sergey Nikolaevich, Deputy Head of the Juvenile Affairs Department of the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs, Police Lieutenant Colonel,
Shakhovskaya Kristina Yuryevna, Senior Inspector for Agitation and Propaganda of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Leninsky District, Police Senior Lieutenant.

The speakers reminded that a road traffic accident (RTA) is an event that results in injuries or deaths while a vehicle is moving, or material damage is caused. Particular attention was paid to the problem of leaving the scene of an accident, since such actions are regarded as an indirect admission of guilt and entail serious liability. During the meeting, students were shown thematic videos that clearly show the consequences of traffic violations. Experts analyzed typical causes of accidents: speeding, drunk driving, using a phone while driving, failure to keep a safe distance.

Students actively participated in the discussion, asked questions about the legal consequences of an accident, the procedure for registering accidents and preventive measures. All questions received detailed and competent answers.

The event became an important step in increasing the legal literacy of young people and forming a culture of safe behavior on the roads. The organizers expressed hope that such meetings will be held regularly.
