World Statistics Day

October 20, 2025 is World Statistics Day, celebrated every 5 years.

On October 17, in anticipation of this holiday, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus held an educational seminar for students majoring in Statistics in the Faculty of Digital Economy on the topic "THE DIGITAL UNIVERSE OF DATA FROM THE STATE STATISTICS OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS."

The seminar was also attended by Svetlana Mayorovskaya, Dean of the Faculty of Digital Economy, Stanislav Vysotsky, Head of the Department of Statistics, and faculty members of the Department of Statistics.

The meeting was opened by Inna Medvedeva, Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus. Belstat staff gave a presentation to the students, introducing the committee's key information systems.

Seminar participants learned about the diversity of statistical data collected by the committee, covering virtually all areas of society. Digital platforms, interactive database capabilities, the use of big data, and the implementation of AI were demonstrated.

The seminar generated keen interest among those present. Students actively participated in the discussion. And at the end of the meeting, everyone received sweet treats!
