Scientific and Practical Conference "Dialogue between Public and Private Law: Problems of Interaction"

On December 11, a large-scale scientific and practical conference with international participation, "Dialogue between Public and Private Law: Problems of Interaction," was held at the Belarusian State University of Economics. This traditional event is the 2nd Scientific Readings dedicated to the memory of the outstanding scholar, professor, and Honored Lawyer of the Republic of Belarus, Georgy Borisovich Shishko.

The forum was organized by the Faculty of Law at BGEU. YurSpektr, the developer and copyright holder of the ilex intellectual property rights platform, served as the event's strategic partner.

Natalia Timoshek, official representative of YurSpektr (the ilex platform), participated in the conference. She emphasized the importance of interaction between developers of professional legal systems and the academic community. The expert noted that using modern digital tools like ilex in the educational process helps future lawyers not only master theory but also develop skills in working with current legal information, which is critical in the context of the digitalization of law.

The plenary session was opened by Alexander Nikolaevich Shklyarevsky, Dean of the Faculty of Law, who emphasized the importance of maintaining continuity in legal scholarship.

Leading legal scholars from Belarus and Russia, judges of the Constitutional Court, and representatives of the National Academy of Sciences participated in the conference. Key speakers included:

Grigory Vasilevich (BSU, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus) — a report on social responsibility in law;

Leonid Ryabtsev (Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus) — the topic of a constitutional complaint;

Galina Skachkova (Law Institute, St. Petersburg) — issues of labor mobility;

Representatives from leading Russian universities (V.F. Yakovlev Ural State Law University, Tyumen State University) discussed the effectiveness of labor legislation.

The conference's title, "Dialogue between Public and Private Law," was reflected in the work of three sections and a roundtable discussion:

The Effectiveness of Public Law: Ecology, Criminal and Administrative Liability.

Protection of Individuals' Rights: Bankruptcy, Digital Rights of Citizens, Consumer Protection.

The Evolution of Private Law Institutions: Artificial Intelligence, Smart Contracts, and Cryptocurrency.

Particularly noteworthy was the Roundtable "Protection of Labor Rights," dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Professor G.B. Shishko, where issues of labor migration and disciplinary practice were discussed.

The forum's international status was supported by young researchers. In the "Youth Scientific Discourse" section, graduate and undergraduate students from Belarus, Russia, and China (Gao Zihan, Li Rongjie, Zhou Shu Rong) presented papers on topics including esports, e-government ethics, and the application of AI.

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates. The II Scientific Readings in Memory of G.B. Shishko, supported by YurSpektr (ilex), once again confirmed their status as a significant platform for professional dialogue, promoting the development of legal scholarship and strengthening ties between education and practice.
