The Future Belongs to the Young: BSEU Summarizes the Decade of Student Science "Youth in Science and Business – 2026"

One of the most ambitious events of the academic year, the Decade of Student Science, has concluded at the Belarusian State University of Economics. For ten days, from April 6 to 17, the university was immersed in innovation, business planning, and scientific discussions. Approximately 1,000 students participated in the Decade's events, presenting their work to the expert community.
The closing ceremony was a triumphant moment for the best young researchers and entrepreneurs. Addressing the participants, Vice Rector for Research Alexey Alexandrovich Bykov noted the high level of youth engagement and the importance of integrating academic knowledge with the practical needs of the economy.
Marketplace of Ideas: From Ecology to High Technology
The central event of the Decade was the "Marketplace of Ideas" business project competition. Winners were determined in three key categories:
• "Best Initiative for BSEU": Gold went to a second-year team from the Faculty of Management and Computer Science (FMC) for their project "Meaningful Merch" (a line of eco-friendly souvenirs). Second place went to an interactive visual novel (UEF), and third to the NAVYKON BSEU digital platform (FKTI).
• "Best Business Project": First place went to a fourth-year team from the FMC for developing "Flicker," an innovative SaaS platform for preventing employee burnout. The investment attractiveness assessment platform (FEM) and the AdForge service (FMC) also made it into the top three.
• "Best Business Idea": The project "NextStep" (a youth employment platform) by FMC students was recognized as the best. Second and third place went to the mobile apps "Vkurse" (for seniors, FEM) and "KrokBY" (tourism, FMC).

The results of the competition for the best student research laboratory were announced during the ceremony. The "Innovatika" research laboratory (FEM, headed by O. Dovydova) took first place, while the "Young Analysts" (FCE, headed by A. Korolenok and L. Soshnikova) and "Economics on the Edge" (FMEO, headed by Yu. Vashkevich) took second and third place.
The honorary title of "Student Researcher of the Year" was shared by Danil Naboka (FEM), Victoria Matrashilova (FEM), and Anna Kisel (UEF).
A Word to Business
The project partners, who served as mentors and experts throughout the Decade, created a special celebratory atmosphere. Dmitry Labkovich, Director of Remago LLC, who has been supporting BGEU startups for three years, addressed the finalists with this parting word:
"There are no failures in business – only experience. If something goes wrong, don't be afraid to restart. Remember that money is just a metric that shows you're on the right path, but your greatest asset is always your people—your team, for whom you are responsible."
Gratitude to the partners
The success of the Decade would not have been possible without the support of leading companies and organizations. The University expresses its sincere gratitude to the Alutech Incorporated Group of Companies, the Minsk Regional Legal Information Center of the National Center for Legislation and Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus, the InCata Technology Park, Remago, ASER, the International Investment and Consulting Company, the Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers, the State Scientific Institution Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the PSPbrand brand studio, String Technologies, Alex Cargo, NPO Center, Kommunarka Confectionery Factory, Minsk Soft Drinks Plant, KlinKosmik, and the primary organization of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union with the rights of the district committee of the Belarusian State Economic University.
The "Youth in Science and Business – 2026" Decade of Events has once again proven that BSEU students are ready not only to study economics but also to create it.
