International Statistics Olympiad Winners at a Reception at Belstat

Students from the FCE Statistics Department, winners of the IV International Student Statistics Olympiad, were received by Inna Viktorovna Medvedeva, Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus. The meeting took place after the closing ceremony of the event in Moscow and served as official recognition of their success on the international stage.
The Olympiad, organized by the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS and timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States, brought together 16 teams from eight countries. The program included a creative presentation by the teams, individual testing, and the defense of team research papers. The Republic of Belarus was represented by two teams led by Department Head S. Yu. Vysotsky. The "Young Analysts" team—Vladislav Zholobov, Alina Blotskaya, and Polina Kharitonchik—took first place overall and also received a special award for "Creative Approach to Scientific Research." The "Statistically Significant" team, consisting of Anna Selekhova, Ekaterina Daranchuk, and Alexandra Bespalova, won the "Professional Breakthrough" and "Competitors' Sympathy" categories.
During a reception at Belstat, Inna Viktorovna personally congratulated the students on their achievements, presented them with souvenirs, and thanked them for their high level of preparation. The meeting gave the young participants the opportunity to share their impressions of the competition, discuss their experiences, and outline their future professional plans.
"The students of the BSEU Statistics Department have once again confirmed their ability to successfully compete internationally and contribute to the popularization and development of statistical science," Inna Viktorovna noted.
The university administration and department faculty congratulate the winners and thank everyone who supported the teams. We wish our students continued scientific achievements and professional growth – the contribution of young professionals to the development of the field is important for our country and international cooperation.
